Los Angeles Urban Teacher Residency (LAUTR)
The Los Angeles Urban Teacher Residency (LAUTR) is working from an $8.8 million federal grant awarded to CSULA to prepare future math and science teachers to help close the achievement gap. Teacher residents work side-by-side with a mentor teacher for an entire school year while taking graduate-level classes at CSULA. Upon completion ofthe 14-month training period, they earn both their preliminary teaching credential and a master’s degree in education. Additionally, residents are given a $16,000 living stipend and must commit to teach for 3 years in a high-need urban public school. More information can be found on our website, www.lautr.org, or from contacting LosAngelesUTR@gmail.com.
