RISEnet Regional Networking Workshop

From feedback following the Regional Workshop held at OMSI in May 2011, this event is a chance for local informal educators (museum professionals, community group leaders, zoo and aquarium staff, and formal educators) to connect around their own attempts at making STEM programming more accessible/effective for girls. Included will be break-out troubleshooting sessions for programs that are stuck and time to plan/coordinate collaborative grants and mini-grants, hands on activities to try out, information on evaluating programs, and discussion and perspective on some recent local efforts. Check-in and continental breakfast will be available beginning at 9:30am. Lunch is included.

Privacy Policy | The Girls RISE (Raising Interest in Science and Engineering) National Museum Network is funded by Grant No. HRD-0937245 from the National Science Foundation (NSF), Human Resource Development, Research on Gender in Science and Engineering Extension Services (GSE/EXT) Program. Project collaborators include the Miami Science Museum, the Association of Science-Technology Centers (ASTC) and SECME, Inc. The project seeks to increase the capacity of science centers and museums to interest girls from underrepresented populations in the engineering sciences
